First Presbyterian Food Pantry
First Presbyterian Church maintains an active food pantry. The food is
stored in the “Food Pantry” in the basement. Donations of non-perishable
food and/or cash donations are received from church members, friends of
the church, local Scout troops (Scouting for Food), local business “food
drives”, and individuals throughout the community. Packed bags to be
given out are kept in the office workroom.
During any given week 1-6 bags may be given out to individuals visiting the food pantry. A packed bag typically contains: cans of Fruit or Fruit Juice, cans of Vegetables, Meals or Beans, Soup, Tuna, boxes of Mac & Cheese, Cereal, Pancake Mix, Syrup, Pasta, can or jar of Tomato Item and 1-3 other, miscellaneous items as needed to fill the bag.
Distribution Policy
The Food Pantry is open 10:00 am – 12:00 noon each Tuesday & Thursday.
Please visit the church office for assistance. Food can be received from
the food panty three times in a six-month period by any one individual
or family.
Needs
Donations of non-perishable food items or cash are appreciated. There is
a Food Pantry basket in the church narthex that you may place your
donated non-perishable food items in. Checks/cash may be mailed to the
church office or placed in the offering basket, please indicate “food
pantry” on the memo line of your check. When the pantry is in need of
specific items a notice is placed in the bulletin and BELL.
